The physical limited edition release out April 24th 2010.
The physical will be available through me at shows and will be soon available on my upcoming online store. It will include a whole bunch of original art work
This is my first release recorded in this method. 2 days of recording. Live PA performances recorded with a digital multi-track
Check out this amazing video for the track “Prism Myst” done by Robin Greenwood.
Prism Myst video is composed from original animation, found video clips, and custom effect used for the projected element of the live show.
Releasing another doozie of a record, Mythology Of The Metropolis, my good friend Deceptikon has done it again. I was lucky enough to be included on the closing track “Minerva Liberation Society”.
What can I say other than it’s been an honour knowing and working with Dkon. He truly knows how to write original effective solid rhythms without playing to trends. Much respect.
My friend Jo lee got a hold of me to do some charity illustration work for a magazine she was working on. she asked me to draw an image around the subject of the life of bottle collectors (binners?). I decided that a simple drawing of cans would work well. the version that was included on the published magazine has been inverted. the brand are all backwards.
Megaphone is a magazine sold on the streets of Vancouver by homeless and low-income vendors. Vendors buy the paper for 50 cents and sell the magazine to customers by donation. All money from the transaction goes into the pocket of the vendor.
this is the commemorative issue of megaphone that you can find my drawing
so, Jo Lee comes by my office to pick up some prints and deliver me my copy of the magazine. It’s full colour and beautiful. I had thought since it was a charity thing that it would have been black and white.. .
Then Jo is about to leave but before she asks if my coworker (Dustin) and I wanted to buy a Pin for charity.
I thought they looked good. patriotic in a way that I could get behind. Dustin and I bought one each. if you like em so should you. watch the video check their website for ordering!
I am very fortunate to have many talented artist friends in my life. Kathryn Mussallem is one of my friends and is one hell of a photographer. She has a knack for understanding light, subtle colour, and depth of field. I am so lucky to know her and even more to get these photos
she has been my portrait photographer since my first promo photos back in 2006.
haha I found myself on google street view. I am at one of my favorite coffee spots on main street. super americano. see me in the bottom left hand corner of the frame… my head is turned away. also there is Graeme Berglund of the cheaper show. time to start thinking about submissions.
So I get home after a stupid slow day at the office. sigh. reality… I sit down at my desk settling into a new project.
I see that i got a message from Nathaniel Bryce telling me he wrote a review of the Woodhands show from back in Novemember. Super stoked!
Here is some video taken from backstage care of Graintable.
I must say that in all the years of being involved with laptop battle I had never seen such an amazing amount of talent. I have crazy amounts of respect for everyone involved. and once I can get a chance to straighten out some business I intend on sharing more about each of them.
that said here is a tiny bit of Graintable’s set I found when I went looking for video.
and here is a commemorative drawing of us celebrating after
Well… alright there you go. Tonight I am doing a show called Merry Glitchmas! with Graintable.
I will be using this as my laptop battle image for the 2009 seattle battle
Oh mama! THIS FRIDAY DECEMBER 18th, 2009 @ CHOP SUEY!!! The Seattle Laptop Battle 2009!
For the last few years I have been involved in some way or another with Kris Moon’s Laptop Battle. Up until now I have been a featured performer or one of the judges… but never a contestant.
This year I will be competing for the Seattle crown and I couldnt be more excited.
Here are the rules.
Contestants are allowed to use 1 midi controller.
Contestant may use 1 external sound card
All of the contestants gear must fit within a 2′x2′ area.
Rounds are determined randomly, and order of play is determined with a coin toss.
Rounds are 3 minutes long.
External audio devices are not allowed. All audio must come from laptop. Onboard Mic’s are acceptable.
(this rule is a bitch for me considering I work with two outboard KP2′s so needless to say I will be playing handicaped)
Rounds are determined by judges.

sooooo last week I did a video interview with my friend Frederick Brummer for LiftStudios.ca.
We talked about my musical, design and artistic practice. I had a great time and I feel that the video gives a better understanding to do with my process. I must say it was great to be able to elaborate on some of my thoughts around my music and design.
There is also footage of my grumpy little cat Binky… (named after Binky Griptight of daptone records)
