I have met a lot of good artists durring my time at Emily Carr but very few as talented as Lisa Cinar.
She definitely was a major influence for me back in the days of old. She is now teaching at emily carr.
very happy for her.
I asked Lisa if she wanted to feature anything specific in this blog.
she sent me these.
I am glad to see things are really looking good for her

tones of cool stuff on it.
I’m gonna try to do more of thesee
I am very fortunate to have many talented artist friends in my life. Kathryn Mussallem is one of my friends and is one hell of a photographer. She has a knack for understanding light, subtle colour, and depth of field. I am so lucky to know her and even more to get these photos
she has been my portrait photographer since my first promo photos back in 2006.
you should check out her website. www.thealmightyqueen.com
So I am back home now… getting back into the swing of things. Bunch of new posters on my plate. Excited
On my vacation, after winning the 2009 Seattle Laptop Battle against the right honorable RunRiotRecords label mate Graintable, I decided to do a series of portraits to commemorate the event.
here is Graintable
it would work nice a desktop background

Oh my goodness!
So its the morning after the laptop battle and I am just sitting in Andrew Luck’s living room with Andrew, Graintable and Kris Moon.
As you may have noticed my the title of this post… I won the Seattle Laptop Battle!
Super epic. It turn out that the final battle was between myself and my Runriot records label-mate Gaintable!!
Here are some videos taken of the epic battles ![]()
Here is some video taken from backstage care of Graintable.
I must say that in all the years of being involved with laptop battle I had never seen such an amazing amount of talent. I have crazy amounts of respect for everyone involved. and once I can get a chance to straighten out some business I intend on sharing more about each of them.
that said here is a tiny bit of Graintable’s set I found when I went looking for video.
and here is a commemorative drawing of us celebrating after

Well… alright there you go. Tonight I am doing a show called Merry Glitchmas! with Graintable.

sooooo last week I did a video interview with my friend Frederick Brummer for LiftStudios.ca.
We talked about my musical, design and artistic practice. I had a great time and I feel that the video gives a better understanding to do with my process. I must say it was great to be able to elaborate on some of my thoughts around my music and design.
There is also footage of my grumpy little cat Binky… (named after Binky Griptight of daptone records)

Paintings from art school… this is the start of me abstracting the studio
both paintings are 38×50, oil and acrylics on canvas.
Every year Emily Carr University of Art + Design selects an image from the last year’s graduating class.
Guess what? They picked my piece “Modified Bedroom Studio (Tower)” ! !!
So it’s a bit hard to see whats going on. They made the image a metalic pantone on purple so it doesnt come through very nice on screen… but it’s print so I’m stoked.
PMS colours are: 228 purple, 8400 silver and 3955 yellow
I am including the original image so you can give it a gander…

This is a little video I did back in 2007 with Stu Hughes. It was in support of my EP Clack Clack
We stayed up all night for two nights working on it…
The video was made in flash. all the characters and building were designed by me but the video couldnt ever have been without Stu and his mad skills
